Slime Care
Slime Care
Most Important
Wash and dry your hands before and after playing with slime. This will help prolong the life of your slime.
As tempting as it is to stick your fingers in your new slime to try it out, we recommend that you have activator ready to go. This way if your slime is a little sticky, you are ready to activate it as needed.
Slime is made with a glue base so will eventually return to a glue consistency unless it is kept activated. If the slime has returned to a glue consistency it can be returned to slime by adding activator. Mix a little activator in, test your consistency and continue to add activator as needed.
How To Make Activator
Add 1 tsp of borax to 1 cup of warm water - Mix the solution until it dissolves - Store activator for future use in a sealed container.
Sticky Slime
Slime will stick to warm hands or dry hands, so we recommend adding a little moisturiser to your hands before playing with the slime to help prevent this.
Add activator in small amounts, a few drops at a time! Knead slime until it’s smooth.
Stiff or Hard Slime
Keep your slime sealed in its container when not playing with it as it will dry out if left exposed to the air. There is no saving dry slime.
Slime may be a bit stiff if it is stored in a cold environment. Playing with it will help soften the slime as the warmth of your hands will warm it up.
If you have added too much activator your slime will become stiff. You can leave it sit in its sealed container for a few days/weeks for it to soften up. You can add lotion but this will change the consistency of your slime. Do not add lotion to a clear base slime.
Cloud Slime doesn't drizzle or drizzles too fast
If your cloud slime is not drizzling, try continually stretching it to get some air through the slime. If this does not work, try adding a few drops of water and working this through. This will re-hydrate the fake snow and help to fluff up the slime.
If the cloud slime is drizzling too quick, add a little activator and work it through. Only add the tiniest bit at a time as it is easy to over activate a cloud slime.
Foam Beads Falling Out
If you over activate or over inflate your slime this may happen. Let the slime sit for a few days to deactivate itself. Floam slimes are best kept a little sticky to help it grab onto the foam balls.
Shrinking Slime
It is normal for slime to shrink/evaporate over time due to the water content.
Help I have slime on my clothes, in my hair and on the carpet!!
Don't panic!
You can melt/deactivate slime with a little vinegar diluted with water. Then you can just wipe it up. Slime will usually come out in the wash.
And we recommend not playing with slime on the carpet!
